I was pretty certain that I wasn’t going to be able to actually make anything today because I had to work for the first part of my day then jump on a plane to travel to Connecticut for work. Well, whadaya know – I still had time to make something!
I ran to Five Below yesterday to pick up a phone charger and I happened to stumble across a soft MacBook case for $5! I couldn’t pass it up, but I also felt like I needed to add a little something to it. Since I was traveling for work this week, I thought it was as good a time as any to put a little bling on my awesome find.
I ordered some heat transfer vinyl (HTV) from Expressions Vinyl a week or two ago and have been terrified to use it. I tried to make something with it last week and totally ruined the vinyl because it just didn’t cut through. So I didn’t think I could actually get something to work well for me and in about 15 minutes nonetheless.
Well, I got it to work. It took 3 tries, but that’s ok, because I got my pretty finished product. I also feel like I’ve mastered the glitter HTV finally. I had to slightly adjust the recommended cut settings found on the expressions vinyl website, so here’s what worked for me in case you’re struggling with the same.
Flocked HTV, Double-Cut, Blade – 10, Speed – 5, Thickness – 9
And finally, here’s the finished product!
